Support Solar Richmond!

Solar Richmond is a pioneering green-collar jobs training and placement organization in the city of Richmond. I have been interning for them for a few months now, and it has been a joy to see firsthand the fantastic work they are doing. The heart of their mission is giving solar panel installation and weatherization training to low income people, who then go on to get good paying jobs doing great work for the environment (two birds anyone?). There is a great NYT article which talks about the potential power of their work HERE.

I mention this because they have been nominated to receive $100,000 from Levi Strauss company, but need your help to secure the funding. If you have 2 minutes to spare, please go to their website, log-in and vote for Solar Richmond. $100,000 they say "will help Solar Richmond promote solar Bay Area-wide". Sounds good to me!

Voting ends on November 17, so spread the word. http://goforth.levi.com/fortune/pollpop
